Adriane Serrano Bojorquez (Las Vegas)
A Las Vegas raised artist, Adriane has always had a passion for art. She recently began honing her skills, dipping into new mediums trying to find what speaks to her. She has been drawing and refining her skills since the age of 4 and continues to do so to this day. Inspired by the world and its darkness having started with photography, Cologuard and interpretive dance, she eventually found her voice through art. Adriane uses a combination of charcoal, pens, pencils, watercolor, pastels, and acrylics to fuel her ever evolving artwork. Having gone through much in her life as we all do, finding art therapy led her to this moment. She shares: "I was held hostage at gunpoint in 2018, during a robbery, at one point he lifted the visor of his helmet and I saw his eyes, that image is burned into my mind. I was able to disarm him where law enforcement was able to subdue him due to my knowledge of guns." With the encouragement and support of her friends and family, she is ready to move forward without fear. “I was so scared to take participate in this art gallery because of the event that took place. I never considered myself an artist until now. The case is still open as I write this. But I refuse to be scared, I refuse to be silenced, I will not let it define who I am.” - Adriane Shown here: "I know who you are" Graphite/Pencil on paper |
